Dr. Brian G.Waters, Practicing dentistry and anaesthesia.

Dr. Waters has been practicing dentistry and anaesthesia for 35 years, 25 of those years at 123 Edward Street. After graduating from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry he interned at Sunnybrook Medical Centre followed by a residency in anaesthesia at Tuft’s New England Medical Center in Boston.

For many years Dr. Waters has been a clinical instructor in the graduate program of Dental Anaesthesia at the University of Toronto. He is a Diplomat of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and is the author of several journal articles pertaining to anaesthesia in dentistry.

A frequent attendee at continuing education courses Dr. Waters is also a member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Society of Anaesthesiology, Canadian Academy of Dental Anaesthesia and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Aside from an ongoing love of practicing dentistry he is an avid musician and enjoys the company of his two adult children.

Dr. Firas Abdulmajeed.

In 1992 Dr. Firas Abdulmajeed received a BDS degree in Dentistry from Baghdad University, College of Dentistry. He then completed a one year internship at the Dental Speciality Centre in Baghdad. Following this he worked in private practice until 2010 where he and his family came to Canada.

In 2012 he was accepted at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario. He was then granted his second degree DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) from the University of Western Ontario in 2014.

From the very beginning of his dental practice Dr. Firas has been interested in the areas of Cosmetic, Restorative and Digital Prosthetic Dentistry. His biggest interest is in continuing education to keep up with the latest updates in the sciences of Dentistry to provide the highest standards of dental care to his patients.

Dr. Firas has proudly joined the 123 Edward Street Dental family, and is feeling grateful and blessed that his hard work finally put him in the best practice that any dentist could wish to join.

Dr. Firas is a busy father of four children and enjoys his free time with his family and spending time outdoors.
Dr.Firas is currently a member with the Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons Of Ontario.

Dr. Monica Raina.

Dr. Monica Raina is thrilled to be joining our office and taking care of our patients, and we are excited to have her.

Monica was born and raised in Toronto. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto and studied Dentistry at Western University. After, she undertook a 1-year hospital internship at the University of Rochester and then received her Certificate in Periodontics and Masters degree from the University of Iowa.

She attained Fellowship status from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and Dimplomate status from the American Board of Periodontology, therefore she is dually board-certified in Canada and the United States.

She participates in many professional organizations and she enjoys supplementing her private practice by giving back and teaching clinical periodontics to the 4th year dental students at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry.

Her particular professional interests include Dental Implant Procedures and Periodontal Plastic Surgery (gum grafting). Of course, her scope includes all aspects of periodontal surgical and non-surgical procedures

Judy Palmer, Office Manager and Registered Nurse.

Judy has been in the dental industry for over 30 years. She joined the practice 26 years ago in the capacity of the sedation monitoring Registered Nurse and dental assisting. She was Dr. R. Locke’s main assistant/nurse, the founding father/Dentist of the practice, until he retired in 1993. She obtained her HARP certification in 1990. She has worked alongside Dr. B. Waters even before joining this practice at other offices.

The knowledge and passion she obtained starting out assisting with sedation dental work/cases/treatment (not sure of wording), she now applies to assisting patient/clients at the front desk/reception. She graduated from George Brown College School of Nursing in 1982 and currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

She worked in a hospital and medical offices until joining a dental anaesthesia practice in 1988 for a change, enjoyed it and stayed in this highly specialized field. She is the proud mother of two and loves spending her spare time with them at their family cottage, swimming canoeing, kayaking and sailing. Summer being the best time of year for that.

Niti Sheth, Dental Hygienist.

Neeti started in the dental field after graduating from George Brown College in 2015. She joined 123 Edward Dental family full-time in 2017. She takes pride in prioritizing patients comforts and concerns first as well as educating and giving tips on individualized hygiene care based on current oral health. She especially feels accomplished when she can make patients with previous negative memories of dentistry comfortable and happy to be receiving care. Neeti enjoys spending her free time with friends and family, kickboxing and reading inspirational books!

Cecila Megarry, Registered Dental Hygienist.

Cecilia has been in the dental field since 1988. First working as a dental assistant and then going back to college for the hygiene program. She graduated from Algonquin College Dental Hygiene program in 1991.

She has worked as a dental hygienist for a family practice for over 25 years in Oakville and in the Toronto area. Cecilia also has experience in treating periodontally related cases working at a periodontist office for 4 years in Mississauga. She has been with Dr. Brian Waters since 2009 and is eager to continue now with Dr. Firas in a family oriented practice.

Cecilia is an active member of the Canadian Dental Hygiene of Ontario as will as the local Toronto Central Dental Hygienist Society. Cecilia actively expands her dental knowledge by attending seminars through the society as well as online studies.

Cecilia is married and has two active school-age children and lives in Toronto. In her spare time, she enjoys spinning, yoga and snowboarding. In the summer, she enjoys visiting her family cottage in Minden; as well as spending time in Florida, in the winter.

Jacqueline Rojas, Dental Hygienist.

Jacqueline has been part of the team since 2011. She graduated as a Dental Hygienist in 2008 from Regency Dental Hygiene Academy. She is certified, HARP qualified and registered with the College of Dental Hygiene of Ontario.

She is a member of the ODHA and certified in CPR/AED. Jacqueline has extensive experience as a dental hygienist. Jacqueline previously completed a medical degree in Bolivia, South America.

She enjoys observing the connection between oral health and systemic health. She loves to educate patients on achieving excellence in oral health. She is also fluent in Spanish.

She loves animals and in her free time takes long walks with her English cocker spaniel Winston. She also loves music, art and traveling around the world when the opportunity arises.

Yaquelin Argota, Dental Assistant

Yaquy is a Canadian Certified Dental Assistant, HARP qualified for 123 Edwards dental location. She joined the team in Dec 2017. She loves to work with a team that is always willing to help out. She also enjoys meeting new patients. Outside of work, Yaquy enjoys traveling, cooking, swimming at the beach, spending time with friends and family and also spending time with her son and husband all over the world.
